Placemat Zipper Pouch

Pioneer WOman Pouches-1

This, by far… has been one my most popular video tutorials and, probably one of the easiest!

This is a Box Zipper Pouch made from a Pioneer Woman Placemat from Walmart!  Not even joking!

Pioneer WOman Pouches-5

These are really practical.  They are the perfect size for cosmetics, traveling toiletries and even craft projects.

The best part… the quilting is already done for you.  All you need to do is add a zipper and few stitches and voila… you’ve got a gift in less than 15 minutes.

Want to make one?  Guess what?  I’ve got a video tutorial for you!  Here you go!

Would love to have printed instructions for this. Have watched the viedo, but would love to have instructions in print so I can have them by my machine.
    Love your viedos.

Unfortunately, I simply don’t have the time to also make written instructions as I already use half of my weekends to film/edit videos. I would suggest perhaps watching the video and taking notes as you watch. This project is a lot of fun and only has a few steps.

Hey Lorrie! Loved the video! Bobbin may not have been wound well. Sometimes that can cause the bobbin to jump, if you have lent under your bobbin casing that could cause issues as well. I always try to give my machine a good digging out between “projects” . As for double thread that makes me think that you have a bad bobbin. Some times they don’t wind as tight and cause extra threads. Also some machines do that if you have a thread cutter. Hope this helps you. I have suppliers to try bag can’t wait!!!!! Thanks again.

You are welcome for the free tutorial and idea that I spent my Saturday sharing live because several people asked me to. Thanks for taking time out of your day to insult a complete stranger. I hope your day gets better!

Hi Lorrie, I just watched this video on the placemat bag but wished you would show how you made the other one. Would you please do a version of it?

I did it…I did it. Instructions were great. I need to make or get a zipper pull ordered in bulk and the little tabs are hard to grap. Thank You

  6. Michelle says:

    Hi Lorrie,
If you can’t find an already made placemat but can make it yourself, what are the dimensions used?
