Fabric Embroidered Coasters – A quick and easy gift idea for any embroidery enthusiast / FREE EMBROIDERY FILES INCLUDED.

I wanted a quick and easy, but unique gift idea for those who I like to give, what I call, an appreciation gift. The delivery people, the lady at the post office to patiently weighs my packages, the friendly worker at McDonald’s (who knows me by name because of my continuous “Large Diet Coke” orders), and my favorite check out person at the grocery.

I came up with this fun little project that literally took me about 20 minutes start to finish to make the entire set. It’s really easy create custom embroidery files when you have the Chroma Software that comes with every Ricoma Embroidery Machine. If you don’t have the software, don’t worry, You can get the embroidery files here.   I sized the file so that they can be sewn with a 4 x 4 single needle machine all the way up to an industrial multi-needle machine. They are really quick because you really only need one thread color.

Don’t they look cute all packaged up with a simple little ribbon. I think they would be a great gift just like this, but you could also step it up and add a coffee mug, starbucks gift card or something a little extra.

Here is a step by step tutorial. Are you going to make a set? Who will be the lucky recipient? Let me know in the comments. Happy Embroidering 🙂

Cricut Fusible-1

Hey there!  Have you heard the great news?  Cricut now has FUSIBLE FABRIC!  What is fusible fabric?  Well it’s cotton fabric that already has a fusible product on the back so that with the use of an iron or the Cricut EasyPress you can make your very own fabric applique projects!

I wanted to make a little Cricut care package for a friend, so I cut out a Cricut “C” with my Cricut Maker and applied it with the EasyPress.  It was so easy and so fast to make this adorable miniature tote bag!

Hint… you can find this Cricut Logo in the Cricut Library.. just search “Cricut”.

Glasses Case with the Cricut & HeatnBond

Sunglass Case TOW-5

Summer is upon us and that means, most likely, I will be losing yet another pair of sunglasses any day now!  In an attempt NOT to lose my glasses, I have created a super easy (beginner sewing) pattern for you to keep those babies safe!

Sunglass Case TOW-7.jpg

I mean, really, how can you misplace this colorful pouch (Fabric by Windham Fabrics).

Sunglass Case TOW-10

I used HeatnBond Fusible Fleece and HeatnBond Fusible Craft Interfacing to provide this fun case with lots of cushion to protect your precious cargo.

Sunglass Case TOW-11

I created a pattern in Cricut Design Space and let the Cricut Maker cut the fabric, interfacing & fleece for me.  It really could not get any easier than this!  If you’d like to grab the cut file, you can find it here.

Ready for the tutorial?  It’s on the Thermoweb Youtube Channel.  Click below and you’re on your way to making your own glasses case.

Celebrate the Maker In YOU!

Maker Hoop-2

Have you celebrated the Maker in YOU?  There is a Maker inside each and every one of us, and I think it’s time we applaud our everyday creative selves!

Maker Hoop-6

It just so happens, I made this maker project with my Cricut Maker!  How Cool is that!?!!?

It’s crazy easy and a really fun addition to your craft area.  I made another one for Evie’s bedroom with her name on it.

Maker Hoop-5

I mean.. hello???  You can make this in any color scheme, any word, any occasion and it just adds that little bit of homemade magic to any room.  I used HeatnBond Fusible Adhestive to add the letters that I cut out with the Cricut Maker.  The Cricut Easy press made applying it super easy!  Did you know Cricut now has fabric with the Fusible product already on it?  They Do!  You can find it here!

This is a super easy project!  You can view this video to find out how to make the letters and this video to find out how to make the flowers.

Embroidery Hoop with HeatnBond and the Cricut Maker

Embroidery Hoop-5

Hello!  Today, I have a fun project over on the Thermoweb Blog.  I was challenged to create an “Embroidery Hoop Caddy”.  Caddy’s of this sort, have been around for quite awhile, so I wanted to try and make it a little different.  Enter… HeatnBond Ultra and my Cricut Maker.

Embroidery Hoop-8

This was so much fun to make and it is 100% a no-sew project!  The Cricut cut all of the pieces of fabric which I had lined with Thermoweb’s HeatnBond Ultra Adhesive.  Once the pieces were cut, all I had to do was apply heat with an iron to adhere the pieces into place.

Embroidery Hoop-7

I used really gorgeous fabrics by Windham Fabrics.  Who doesn’t love a teal fabric fox!!  Wouldn’t it be fun to make 3 of them in various woodland creatures and add them as a decorative, but useful element to any craftroom or even a child’s bedroom.

Screen Shot 2018-05-20 at 12.37.47 PM

I created the entire design in Cricut Design Space using Cricut Access Images and Basic Shapes.  I changed the eyes at the last minute.

I have a step by step tutorial for you!

Making Skirts for Evie with Cricut Fabric

Hello!  If you read yesterday’s blog post where I showed you how to add a Decorative Ruffle Edge to a towel and Decorate it with the Cricut, you will recognize this fabric!

This fabric is from the Riley Blake Collection at Cricut.  It’s part of a quilt collection, and since I have not yet taught myself to quilt, I decided to use it to make a cute skirt for Ms. Evie.

And while I was add it, I might as well make a matching hair bow!  She will be stylin this summer!

I added a quite T-shirt from Target (though I could easily make something very similar with my Cricut Easy Press and Cricut Gold Foil Iron On).

I can’t wait to make more summery skirts!
