This is such a fun and unusual koozie. When my children were little they had bracelets that worked the same way that slap wrap can koozies work the same way.

I think they are the perfect stocking stuffer, great for football game parties, themed parties and holidays.

Sublimation Photo Pouch

As I continue with my Sublimation Series, my mind is constantly thinking about new ways to use my sublimation printer. I had some polyester fabric laying around and that got me thinking about a project I made a few years ago. This is an updated version of my older Printable Pouch tutorial using the Cricut and Print then Cut. This time we aren’t using the Cricut.

I love how one can personalize each pouch. They are a big hit as gifts for moms, grandmas, friends and family.

As you can see on the pouch with the pink zipper, I added a peek-a-boo image from my son’s wedding on the inside of the pouch along with their wedding date. It’s the perfect place for a small momento from their special day.

How to Sublimate an Enamel Mug

I have been playing with some of my sublimation blanks from the JP Plus Trend Boxes.

This cute enamel mug was screaming for something crafty! I love this super cute design by A Girl and a Glue Gun. She has so many cute SVGs on her website. Be sure and check them out. They are one-of-a-kind hand-drawn images. I love them so much!

Let’s get back to this cute pink mug. You can find it here (use coupon code 9PSR5 and save 15%). I think this is my new favorite for my morning coffee with Peppermint Stick creamer.

I used my sublimation printer and my mug press to put the image on the mug. This method of transfer is 100% dishwasher save and will last the life of the mug. Pretty neat!

Cricut Infusible Ink on a Sequin Pillow? Say what?

OK, this might just be my favorite project so far. You guys! This is so fun! Did you know that Cricut Infusible Ink is basically the same as Sublimation? It is. While Infusbile Ink comes in the form of a paper-like transfer sheet and sublimation ink is a liquid, they both transfer by heating the ink up to a gaseous stage that can than be infused into a substrate. Well that gave me an idea. Let’s try to make a sequin pillow using a sublimation blank and Cricut Infusible Ink. It worked!

I used Cricut Infusible Ink and an image from a Girl and A Glue Gun to create this glittery beauty! It was so easy!

Of course, I had to make more pillows for the kids using my sublimation printer.

Hello sequin pillows!

This just might be my favorite use of Sequins. Did you know you can use Cricut Infusible Ink on a Sequin Pillow Blank to create really fun and interactive pillows. Take a look at how amazing this pillow turned out.

If you have a Sublimation printer, you can create similar pillows with even more customizations. Check out this one I made for my grandson.

The kids love their pillows! I love how easy it was to create fun pillows that were customized especially for them. Evie requested a pillow with Elsa (Frozen) pillow. I was able to create exactly what she wanted in less than 5 minutes.

These are going to make amazing gifts for the holidays, kids parties and let’s face it, that Maker pillow is a piece of Decor in my craftroom.

Hooded Towel / Poncho Tutorial

Hello there and thanks for being here. I have had this tutorial ready to go for awhile now, but I had to wait for these two stinkers to come to town so that I could take a photo or two… or ten.

Ace and Evie are starting swimming lessons. I thought this would be a perfect solution to help them remember their towel, to stay warm and dry in the car and their mom won’t have to carry everything.

They are so easy to make! The kids thought they were pretty cool in their “Capes”.

I was going to step it up a notch and add pom poms, but I was afraid with regular washing they wouldn’t hold up, but you could totally add decorative ribbon or or use towels with decorative edging.

Would you believe these are super easy and beginner sewing friendy to make? They only take a few items to make and you probably already have everything you need at home.

ID / Badge Holder – FREE Pattern and Tutorial – Beginner Friendly

I finally got to see my son and daughter-in-law this past weekend.  It had been months and I was certainly happy to see their sweet, smiling faces!  Maggie, asked me if I could create an ID tag for her to put her work ID in and attach to her key chain.  Of course, I obliged and quickly went to work on a very simple pattern.ID TAG-4

She requested a verticle tag since it was going to be hanging from her key chain.  I whipped up a super simple tag on my embroidery machine, but I was afraid she’d lose her ID and anything else she put in it.  I decided to create a new pattern with a bit more protection.

This is what I came up with and I am thrilled with it.  It is still super simple and takes very little product, but it’s ultimately safer and, lets face it, prettier.  I love that it can be made either vertically and horizontally, depending on your needs.  I also like the lobster clasp attachment which can easily be attached to a lanyard, backpack or keychain.

If you have a Cricut or other digital die cutting machine that can cut fabric with an SVG, this project is going to be super simple for you, because I made an SVG.  You can get it by clicking HERE.  No Cricut, no worries, you can grab the printable PDF pattern by clicking HERE.  Be sure when printing that you print at actual size and not scaled.  There is a guide at the top of each page to measure and make sure you printed it correctly.  When downloading the ZIP file for your digital die cutting machine, be sure and double click the ZIP file to open it and then upload the file ending in .SVG.

How to Make Fabric Rope

This is another really easy, but fun project.  I love to make fabric twine/rope while watching tv.  I am not a person who can just sit idle, I need my hands to be doing something.

Last night, while watching a movie, my daughter in law and I made these balls of twine.  They turned out so beautiful.

Today, I took her ball of twine and made it into this cool trivet.  The smaller one is a coaster.

It is truly a one of a kind rope and I kinda love it!  The best part?  It’s made with nothing more than fabric from my scrap bin!  What a wonderful way to recycle your scraps.

I plan to keep going with my ball of twine and hope to make a rug out of it.  They are fully washable (I know that’s what you were thinking when I said rug!).

Parkside Tote – Collaboration with OklaRoots

I have been so excited to release the Parkside Tote Bag.  OklaRoots and I collaborated on this super fun, super practical tote bag.

We are both bag makers.  She is also a quilter – I want to be a quilter.  Neither of us have the time to commit to a full size quilt everytime we want to quilt, so we decided to combine our two loves and voila… the Parkside Tote was built.

Jess over at OklaRoots designed the quilt block just for you.  It is perfectly sized and pieced together to fit within the construction of this tote.  You can visit her blog and Youtube to find out how to make the quilt portion of the bag, pick up the PDF templates and she’s even got SVGs for all of you digital die cutting makers.

Brinkley Double Zipper Pouch / Cross Body Bag

IMG_5800Thanks for stopping by!  I am so excited to share with you the Brinkley Double Zipper Pouch / Cross body Bag.  This is a fun and practical bag.  It features two zipper pockets

as well as a surprise third pocket in the middle.  It’s super roomy.  I can easily fit my iphone XS Max inside the smaller pouch with plenty room to spare for keys, wallet, etc.

I made two different sizes.  The smaller size is approximately 6 x 8 and the larger is 8×10.

I love that you can easily switch between a clutch to a cross body bag by simply changing the detachable strap.

The measurements are as follows:

2 Outer Fabrics 8″ x 10″ (small size 6 x 8) .

2 Lining Fabrics 8 x 10 (small size 6 x 8)

2 Fusible Fleece cut to 7.5 x 9.5

1 Fabric for wristlet strap 3″ x 15″ (lengthen or shorten to your preference)

1 Fabric (or vinyl) 2 x 4″ for tab

1 D-ring / 1 Swivel Lobster Clasp
