3D Puff Embroidery

Have you tried 3d Puff Embroidery? I absolutely love this embroidery technique. Puff embroidery involves using a specially designed embroidery file to stitch/embroider over a thin foam which causes a raised or 3d effect.

In this example I used a 3d Puff Font called Varsity. You can get it here. It’s from Creative Appliques.

The font is stitched over this 3d Foam which is also made specifically for embroidery. I just love the dimension it adds to any design. I used my Ricoma EM1010 to stitch the examples above, but you can easily use a single needle machine as well.

Check out the video below for all of the instructions and details.

MAKER Hand Santizer Holder

Can I just say that Bright COLORS make me happy. I knew when I designed this MAKER Hand Sanitizer Holder embroidery file that I needed color. I needed happy, spring and vibrant colors.

I created these cutie patooties in the Chroma Luxe software. They are so simple to stitch out on any multi-needle or single-needle embroidery machine. I will be using the Ricoma EM1010 multi-needle in my tutorial below. If you are using a single-needle the steps are the same, you’ll just be stopping to switch threads.

I think these would be super cute to take to your next crafting get together or to gift to your fellow MAKERS.

In today’s tutorial I will be showing you how to use the FRAME OUT feature on the Ricoma. It works really well if you need to stop occasionally during a stitch out, but not after each step.

Watch the video to find out how you can get the FREE embroidery file to create your very own Maker Hand Sanitizer Holder.

How to add Embroidery to a Towel

I am back with another embroidery project.  I used my Ricoma EM1010 embroidery machine to create personalized towels for the guest bath.

Now, I am not sure why Wrigley always has to get his nose into things, but he does.  Every single time I take a photo in this particular spot, here he comes.

So, why do I feel the need to add names to the guest bath towels? Is it just my house, or do your kids feel the need to get a new towel for every day that they are at your house?  I get it, they don’t know which towel belongs to who by the next day, so they get a fresh towel.

However, since I have added their names to the towels they are able to use their towels more than once.  It worked!  Simple solution.  I used my multi-needle machine to create the large names, but you can use a single needle embroidery machine like the one I have to create a similar design. I’ve listed the step by step tutorial that I used for this set below.  Keep scrolling to see my embroidery on towels tutorials with a single needle machine.
