Celebrate the Maker In YOU!

Maker Hoop-2

Have you celebrated the Maker in YOU?  There is a Maker inside each and every one of us, and I think it’s time we applaud our everyday creative selves!

Maker Hoop-6

It just so happens, I made this maker project with my Cricut Maker!  How Cool is that!?!!?

It’s crazy easy and a really fun addition to your craft area.  I made another one for Evie’s bedroom with her name on it.

Maker Hoop-5

I mean.. hello???  You can make this in any color scheme, any word, any occasion and it just adds that little bit of homemade magic to any room.  I used HeatnBond Fusible Adhestive to add the letters that I cut out with the Cricut Maker.  The Cricut Easy press made applying it super easy!  Did you know Cricut now has fabric with the Fusible product already on it?  They Do!  You can find it here!

This is a super easy project!  You can view this video to find out how to make the letters and this video to find out how to make the flowers.

Embroidery Hoop with HeatnBond and the Cricut Maker

Embroidery Hoop-5

Hello!  Today, I have a fun project over on the Thermoweb Blog.  I was challenged to create an “Embroidery Hoop Caddy”.  Caddy’s of this sort, have been around for quite awhile, so I wanted to try and make it a little different.  Enter… HeatnBond Ultra and my Cricut Maker.

Embroidery Hoop-8

This was so much fun to make and it is 100% a no-sew project!  The Cricut cut all of the pieces of fabric which I had lined with Thermoweb’s HeatnBond Ultra Adhesive.  Once the pieces were cut, all I had to do was apply heat with an iron to adhere the pieces into place.

Embroidery Hoop-7

I used really gorgeous fabrics by Windham Fabrics.  Who doesn’t love a teal fabric fox!!  Wouldn’t it be fun to make 3 of them in various woodland creatures and add them as a decorative, but useful element to any craftroom or even a child’s bedroom.

I created the entire design in Cricut Design Space using Cricut Access Images and Basic Shapes.  I changed the eyes at the last minute.

I have a step by step tutorial for you!

Tadaaa!  I give you the quilted key chain!  Yes, they have been around for quite some time and there are so many variations, but I haven’t seen any quite like these…

Embroidery Hoop with HeatnBond EZ Print Sheets

Hey there!  I am back with another project featuring HeatnBond EZ Print Sheets by Thermoweb!

Evie Hoop-1

This project came together so easily with just a little bit of fabric (I used fabrics by Windham Fabrics), an embroidery hoop, felt and some HeatnBond EZ Print Sheets.

Evie Hoop-34

I cannot wait to see this hanging in Evie’s room!  I love that you can personalize with colors to fit any room!

Evie Hoop-36

I am not an embroider-er (is that right?), but adding a few simple stitches added a little detail to the project.

Create a Pattern & Card Wallet with the Cricut Maker & HeatnBond

I am having so much fun with my Cricut Maker!  Everyday, it seems, I dream of things to make and patterns to create.

Card Wallet-4

Last night, I got home from work and immediately started working on designing a pattern for these cuties that the Cricut Maker could cut out for me.  It was super easy, and the fact that the Cricut Maker not only cut out my fabric and interfacing, but also drew my seam allowances, made making these super easy – even for a beginner sewist, like me!

Card Wallet-10

These are the perfect size for business cards or credit cards.  I love using small wallets like this for a quick run to the grocery or after school sport events.

Card Wallet-15

I added a keyring so that you could easily clip your car keys or even a lobster clasp could be added to clip it to a backpack or purse.

I used Heat N Bond Fusible Extra Firm interfacing to create the perfect firmness to these little gems.

The fun fabrics are from a Pioneer Woman Placemat (top left $3.47 from Walmart), Fabric Editions (top right and lower left – $0.97 from Walmart) and some fabric from my scraps bin from Riley Blake (lower right).

Wanna make one?  Guess what?  I’ve got a tutorial for you!

Decorative Ruffle Towel with Cricut and Heat n Bond

Welcome!  I’m so glad you’re here and I’m super excited about today’s project!

Today, we are mixing up some of my favorite things!  First off we are using this GORGEOUS fabric by Riley Blake!  It’s part of a quilt kit available from Cricut.

Aren’t they dreamy!  I LOVE THEM!

Next up we are using my oh, so favorite Cricut Maker, and finally Thermoweb Heat N Bond.

This is a really easy project.   All you need is a towel, fabric, HeatnBond Lite, your Cricut Maker and a sewing machine.  Don’t worry, I’ve got step-by-step instructions for you in the video tutorial below.

Are you ready to make one?  Simply change the fabrics and applique and I think these will be perfect decorations and gifts all year around!

Here’s the tutorial for you!

Thermoweb Deco Foil Products

untitled (2 of 3)

Let’s talk foils.  Specifically, Gina K Deco Foils by Thermoweb.  I used the Gina K Foil MatesDeco Foil, Deco Foil Transfer Gel,  and the Gina K Circle Dies to create this sparkly gem.

untitled (1 of 1)-2I love how the foils look on the crepe paper!  It makes me swoon.  Really!

untitled (2 of 8)Here’s another version.  I added the paste to the cardstock and look at the added layer of yummines it adds!!

PJs with the Cricut Maker & Heat N Bond

CAT PJ!!!

It’s Sunday Funday!  I’m having all the feels for this oh so cute set of PJ’s I made for my cat loving granddaughter, Evie.

cat-pj5

It is so easy to whip these up for any theme.  The Cricut Maker cut the fabric which I had fused with Heat N Bond Lite.  I just fused it onto a t-shirt with my Cricut Easy Press and  then stitched around the edges .

Cat PJs-3I used the same fabric to make some matching pj pants and ba-da-bing ba-da-boom… the Cat’s Meow PJs are finished!  The fabric (in case you have a kitty loving granddaughter in your family) is from Joann Fabrics.

Foil a T-shirt with your Cricut Maker, Cricut Easy Press and Deco Foil by Thermoweb!

OH, how I love a good sparkle!

I’m a girl… I think we are born with a “I love a good sparkle” gene.  It’s simply a part of who we are.  Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

 … and then there’s Evie

Evie has earned the name “Drama Queen” from her mommy.  Now, as Grandma (or Lolly, as they all me, I have to defend my sweet little angel grand-daughter.  Maybe, she really is a drama queen, but she’s cute!

I made her the perfect sprarkly shirt with Deco Foil, Adhesive Vinyl and some help from my Cricut Maker and Cricut Easy Press!  It’s really easy!

What would your child, grandchild’s shirt say?
