How to Make A Luggage Tag

Luggage tag-2

May is full of travel plans for me.  I’ve been working on this vinyl project series, so let’s make vinyl/faux leather luggage tags!  How cute are these?!!?

Luggage tag-4

I have found so many fun materials to use, like this Cricut Faux Leather, or this

Luggage tag-5

yummy pink glitter faux leather.  I mean does it really even get any better than pink glitter?

Luggage tag-6

This one was made with my friend, Teri, in my mind.  Leopard is her family tartan.  She swears it’s true! 😉 . I found this print in the ribbon section at Hobby Lobby.

Luggage tag-7

This one is probaby my favorite! It’s so stinking cute!  It’s more shiny and bright than the others.

Did I mention you can totally use Cricut Iron On with the Cricut EasyPress to personalize?  Maggie is going to love this one!

Personalized Gift Box with the Cricut EasyPress

woodenbox-3

Hi there and welcome back.  Today, I am sharing how I made this personalized wooden gift box.

woodenbox-7

You may recall last week, I made this personalized flask and matching etched shot glasses for my son to use to ask his friends to stand up with him in his wedding.  We wanted to present them in a wooden box.

woodenbox-4

I decided to use Cricut Vinyl Iron On rather than adhesive vinyl.  Adhesive vinyl can be hard to adhere to wood because it doesn’t want to grip easily.  Iron on is the perfect solution.  The small 6 x 7 Cricut EasyPress made it even easier.

We are really pleased with how this whole gift set turned out.  Watch the step by step tutorial to find out what settings I used on the Cricut EasyPress and a few tips when applying iron on to wood.

Toiletry Travel Kit with Cricut

3

I am excited to say I am going on a “girls’ trip” soon!  I thought it was time to add a little cuteness factor to my travel bag.  I used Cricut Premium Vinyl and my Cricut Maker to make this fun little bag.

4

You can absolutely use the Cricut Explore to make this as well.  I started with a blank toiletry kit like this one and used my Design Space File.   This is a great beginner project for every Cricut user.

Etched Glass with the Cricut Maker

New shot-1

I have always wanted to try etching glass, and today I did just that!  I don’t know why I waited so long!  It’s easy, fun and very inexpensive!

New shot-6

I used the Cricut Maker to cut out Premium Permanent Vinyl to use as my stencil.  I don’t recommend using removeable vinyl and it doesn’t stick as well and the etching creme can easily seep underneath your design (ask me how I know).  You will also want to pick up a bottle of Armour Etch.  It will last you forever, because most of it goes right back in the bottle after you use it.

New shot-4

With the holidays right around the corner, I’m always looking for gift ideas for stockings, hostess gifts and small gifts for friends.  You could easily make wine glasses, casserole dishes, candy dishes, vases, canisters… whatever fits your gift recipient’s needs.  I thought the shot glasses would also be a fun bachelor party gift, or newly engaged couple gift or even a shower gift.

I have included a step by step tutorial for you.  It’s really easy!  Try it!

Rae Dunn Inspired Jewelry Dishes

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today, I have another quick and easy gift idea for you.  How about a set of Rae Dunn Inspired Jewelry Dishes?

Ring dish-1-2

Pretty cute, don’t you think?  They are amazingly easy and very inexpensive.  I made this set for under $8.

Ring dish-7

I tried a set in black as well for a more authentic “Rae Dunn” look.  I think they would make fantastic bridesmaid gifts, bridal shower gifts, stocking stuffers, birthday gifts or even a just because gift.

Ring dish-2

You could add a name, a monogram, a favorite sports team logo, a short poem, or any other  image you can cut out in vinyl.  Every girl (and guy) needs a place to put their bling, small personal items and whatnots.  I especially like the one with the wedding date… no more forgetting the anniversary, right?!  How about adding a pair of earings and using the bowl as the gift bag.. just add a little ribbon and WOWZA, you just stepped it up a notch.

Ring dish-9

In the video I show you a really easy way to add this gold trim around the bowl as well as a few polka dots.  Polka dots make everything better!

My friend, Teri, and I recorded this live in our Urban Makers Facebook Group, you’ll here her in the video.  I uploaded it to youtube afterward, so it’s no longer live, but you still get to join in the fun!
